How is this different from a regular form?
A form collects once; a survey repeats and compares. NPS and CSAT are measures that only mean something over time — an isolated score teaches nothing.
Do I have to relaunch the survey manually?
No, it is scheduled and reruns at your chosen pace. That is what makes comparison possible: same question, same interval, results readable side by side.
What is the benchmark for?
To place your score against your own previous periods. Knowing you are at 42 says nothing; knowing you were at 31 six months ago says a great deal.
